Sharing Wisdom and Enlightenment to Awaken The Highest Version of Who You Are!

Do Not Be Afraid to Dream

lanwater.jpgNo matter what your age, when you reflect upon your life, what do you see?

Are you satisfied with where you are or are you trying to get to a place you think will make you happy?

Some people never reflect upon or ask those questions of themsleves as they are afraid of the answers. But if one is to live a happy and fulfilled existance on this planet, one must be able to face their own created realities.

And so through this article I want to give you a short inspirational piece for attaining the life you want. This does not necessarily deal with the physical or material items that you think will fulfil your life, but inner peace, stillness and joy.

One of the most powerful tools that one needs to attain and live the life of their dreams - is just that - dreams.

Growing Through Trials, Tribulations & Frustrations

Okay so the work week is over and many of us are ready to start enjoying two nice days of the weekend. But before we get to the fun stuff, how did your week go?

If you are consciously creating your experiences and are aware of your thoughts and actions at least most of the time, then I am assuming your week was very good, perhaps even excellent just like every other day.

If you choose not to take responsibility for your own life and live by blaming others whether that is society, family, friends or coworkers, then I am assuming your week wasn’t too pleasant just like most other days.

In this article, I am not going to go through sharing with you practical applications for making yourself and your life more accountable and happy. We will leave that for another article.

In this article, I specifically want to talk to the first case scenario of us who generally speaking, live consciously, are accountable to ourselves and seek higher growth but are not quite yet masters at it.

Along our evolving journey of manifesting the highest versions of ourselves, naturally sometimes we slip and fall and lose sight of the bigger picture and purpose. It is not an issue of that being a “bad” thing, the issue is how we deal with those times when they arise.

Do we get better at dealing with them and thus shorten the duration of negative energy we generate or do we keep falling in just as deep each time life does not go our “so called” way?

Jill Bolte Taylor: Famous Inspirational Insight

jillboltetaylor.jpgA few weeks ago I was introduced to Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor’s TED talk and hence wrote an article on it here to introduce any of you who have not seen it or heard of her.

Last week, on Sunday May 25thThe New York Times wrote an article on Dr. Jill Bolte Taylor, entitled “A Superhighway to Bliss“. In this article, New York Times even referenced Evolving Beings and the discussion we were having here regarding this “now famous” neuroanatomist.

Over the past few weeks, Oprah has also hosted Dr.Taylor on her XM radio Soul Series and you can check out all four parts of the interviews here.

Add to that being featured in Time Magazine, as one of the 100 most influential people of 2008 and a best selling book and you have one famous and amazingly accomplished human being.

Well that is how the media might take it, but to me, Jill Bolte Taylor is not the latest “fad” or an icon for anything. She is a stroke survivor, a doctor, a scientist, an amazing individual - but above all an enlightened being!

She has through all this made it into the spotlight and with that, unfortunately in our society, comes a big price to pay. In this article I will hence be looking at some of the challenges that this woman who is quickly changing lives is facing from a positive and negative stand point.

Reasons for Having or Not Having a Religion

I have just finished reading one of Steve Pavlina’s latest posts and I have to tell you it is one “hot” piece of work. Now you can take “hot” to mean good or bad - it will really be a personal choice once you read it.

The article is entitled “10 Reasons You should Never Have a Religion“. And I have to warn you, brace yourself before you read it, but by all means read it as growth does not occur from hiding, denying or ignoring other’s opinions.

If you are tied to a religion - all I am going to say is don’t get too angry to finish it. Understand that everybody out there is entitled to their opinion just like you are to yours. Try, and I do mean try to read it without forming a bias toward this person right off the bat.

If you are not tied to a religion - you will probably enjoy this article as it mentions a lot of really, really good points, especially if you used to be tied to a religion. You may find yourself nodding your head a lot and even laughing out loud.

His article is LOADED with a lot of thought and emotion provoking words and ideas.  It will definitely make you react - positively or negatively, but you can be sure that it will make you react!

So here are a few points I just had to write in terms of my own personal take on this article. You can read my notes first to have a preview of the article or jump to read the article first and then read my points after for some additional closure.

Accessing Bliss Using The 5 Koshas

bliss.jpgIn our fast paced world, it is priceless to be able to connect with oneself and enjoy some silence, stillness and meditative time.  It is only then that one gets to connect and address all the various parts of oneself that if unbalanced can create various discord in our lives such as stresses and diseases.

If you already meditate or do yoga, you will enjoy also knowing about and incorporating the 5 Koshas into your understanding of total self, if you do not already. However anyone can incorporate these ideas for a fuller life experience without having done or doing yoga or meditations.

The 5 Koshas come from the Upanishads from ancient India and are a way of looking at the body as having 5 “sheathes” outlining it, hence the 5 Koshas. The 5 Koshas are said to surround the central true self also known as the soul or  ”Atman“.

The Kosha Model was used for yoga healing for thousands of years now. As I stated above, illness or discord can arise in our system whenever we are living out of balance, through the separation at the level of one or more of the Koshas.

Hence in order to attain calm and relaxed happiness that one can term “bliss”, we need to be aware of the 5 Koshas and attain a harmony between them in order to truly balance out the needs between the mind, body and soul.
